Adult Protective Services (APS)
Adult Protective Services (APS) is 24-hour service program to investigate all situations involving seniors (age 65 and older), and dependent adults (age 18-64 and physically or mentally impaired) who are reported to be endangered by physical, sexual or financial abuse, isolation, neglect, or self-neglect. Department of Children and Family Services Child Protection Hotline
The Child Protection Hotline answers telephone calls reporting suspected child abuse, neglect and exploitation twenty-four hours per day seven days a week. Professional staff evaluate all telephone calls reporting suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation to determine if an in-person investigation is warranted by Department of Children and Family Services.
Depending on the potential danger to the child(ren), reports taken are forwarded to protective services offices throughout Los Angeles County and/or law enforcement agencies for an in-person investigation.

WISE & Healthy Aging Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program
The goal of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is to investigate and attempt to resolve complaints made by or on behalf of individual residents in long-term care facilities. These facilities include nursing homes; residential care facilities for the elderly (also known as assisted living or board and care facilities).
