Peer Resource/Drop-In Centers

  • Tri-City Mental Health Center TAY Drop-in Center: Youth ages 16-25 are offered a welcoming and youth-focused environment to find support, develop healthy relationships among their peers and overcome personal challenges.
    • They offer support groups, mentoring, life skills development, job readiness, connection to therapy, computer access, etc.
    • Located at 1407 N. Garvey Ave., Pomona, CA 91767.
  • Pacific Clinics Drop-In Center: This drop-in center is available for youth 15-25 in the city of Irwindale, and they provide access to a variety of FREE resources including Supportive Health, Therapy, and Classes on a variety of topics.

Warmlines

A warmline is a phone number you can call to have a conversation with someone who can provide support during hard times. Warmlines are staffed by trained peers who have been through their own mental health struggles and know what it’s like to need help. Warm lines aim to be an accessible resource that people can use for support before they’ve reached a critical point.

    • Counselors are available 24/7 and provide resource referrals, assessments, & ongoing wellness checks.
  • Teen Line: Provides support, resources, and hope to any teen who is experiencing challenges or mental health struggles.

  • NAMI Pomona Valley: Offers support and education along with resources for individuals and family members impacted by mental illness.

      • Connection Support Group: This group is for those dealing with a mental illness and offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.

      • Family Support Group (English and Spanish): This group is for family members and caretakers ONLY. It is a caring group of individuals (family and loved ones) helping one another by utilizing their collective lived experiences and learned wisdom.

  • NAMI Greater Los Angeles County: Offers support and education along with resources for individuals and family members impacted by mental illness.
  • Friendship Line- Institute on Aging: Friendship Line is a toll-free service for people who are feeling lonely, isolated or depressed. It offers emotional support, crisis intervention, grief counseling and suicide prevention.
  • Postpartum Support International: Provides access to information, social support, and informed professional care to deal with mental health issues related to childbearing.

  • Project Return Peer Support Network Warmline: The Warm Line is a non-crisis toll free line and is specifically, but not limited to, people who are coping with a mental health concern. The Warm Line supporters can also provide referrals to services or organizations that are of interest, such as healthcare facilities, mental health services, family planning agencies, shelters, self-help and support groups, and much more.

Crisis Resources

In case of any mental health or medical emergency, you will find below a list of emergency/hotline services:

  • 911: Call law enforcement if there is an imminent risk of physical danger to self or others or visit your nearest emergency room if someone is having a medical emergency.
  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Prevention Lifeline: The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.

  • LACDMH ACCESS Center Helpline: The ACCESS Center has a 24/7 Helpline and they also have the Psychiatric Mobile Crisis Response Teams which will mobilize a team of clinicians instead of the police. The PMRT will meet an individual wherever they are and will attempt to de-escalate a crisis.
  • Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center (BHUCC): Is a place where people experiencing a mental health crisis can go to be stabilized or for emergency medication refills. It can be compared to an Urgent Care Center where people often go for a medical emergency instead of going to the hospital ER.

  • The Trevor Project: The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ young people. They provide information & support to LGBTQ+ young people 24/7, all year round.

  • Trans Lifeline: Trans Lifeline provides trans peer support and is run by and for trans people.
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing Support:

  • Crisis Text line: Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, high-quality text-based mental health support and crisis intervention. A live, trained volunteer Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform. The volunteer Crisis Counselor will help you move from a hot moment to a cool calm.

  • CA Youth Crisis Line:The California Youth Crisis Line (CYCL) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week as the statewide emergency response system for youth (ages 12-24) and families in crisis. Professionally trained staff and volunteer counselors are available.

Applications/Other Resources

  • BrightLife Kids (app) Free Behavioral Health coaching app for parents, caregivers, and children ages 0-12. Bilingual coaches, live translation services in 19 languages, and no insurance or referrals required. Care navigation to community resources for children who may need additional support outside of BrightLife Kids.
  • Soluna CalHope: Is a mental wellness app which provides confidential support for youth 13-25 years of age residing in California. There is no cost and it can be downloaded via the app store on your phone. The app also provides 1:1 chat options with a professional coach, access to interactive tools, quizzes, videos, forums, etc.

Substance Use Resources

  • LACDMH Access Line: Individuals will be connected to a representative who will complete an assessment to determine the level or type of substance use services that the individual may need. They will verify the individual’s Medi-cal (please have the Medi-cal card readily available). Once they complete their assessment over the phone, they will then determine what level of service is needed and will coordinate substance use services.

  • The Department of Health Care Services: Operates a non-emergency substance use disorder treatment referral line for those seeking treatment services in California.
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): SAMHSA’s National Helpline is a free, confidential, 24/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders.
  • Recover LA/Substance Abuse Service Hotline (SASH): is available toll-free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to those seeking treatment. Anyone can call the SASH—including family, caregivers, and friends. A clinician or counselor will do a brief screening and connect the caller to a treatment provider. The SASH operator will remain on the line to help with making an appointment.
  • Service Bed Availability Tool (SBAT) for Substance Use: The SBAT is a web-based tool that provides a dashboard of available substance use services throughout Los Angeles County, including outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment, different levels of residential treatment, withdrawal management, Opioid Treatment Programs (methadone clinics), Recovery Bridge Housing, and DUI programs.
