8th Annual Emergency Preparedness EXPO

All are welcome to come to the 8th Annual Emergency Preparedness EXPO.

This free event includes several different presentations throughout the event that will give you valuable information about being prepared for all hazards.  Exhibitors will offer a variety of emergency supplies for sale, some with special EXPO discounts.

Indoor Presenters:

Featured Speaker – L. Vance Taylor, Chief, Office of Access and Functional Needs, California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) -- Presentation entitled “Preparedness, It’s about Everyone!”  in Assembly C starting at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Bob Spears, L.A. County Children-in-Disasters Working Group, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles/USC – Presentation entitled “Protecting Children During a Disaster” in Conference Room C.  The 15-20 minute presentation will be repeated approximately every 30 minutes.

Kate Simon, SoCal Animal Response Team (SCART) – “Disaster Preparedness for Pets”.  Located in Conference Room 3. The 20-minute presentations will be repeated throughout event.

John Cvjetkovic, ASM II, Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) – “History of Disasters in Los Angeles”.  Conference Rm 2.  Presentation will be repeated.

Tammy Evrard Consulting and Feeling Safe, Being Safe Trainers -- Feeling Safe, Being Safe  with a 30-minute presentation starting at 11:45 in Conference Room 1.

Metro – STAR services – strapping and marking service for wheelchairs, scooters and walkers to make riding the Metro buses faster and safer.
