Volunteer Opportunities

FOSTER GRANDPARENTS SENIOR PRG LOGO 2014

The Foster Grandparent Program began in 1965 with 800 volunteers in more than 45 institutions.  Today nearly 30,000 volunteers help more than 280,000 children through CNCS nationwide network of organizations. Currently at SGPRC our volunteers serve over 100 children with special needs daily.  They help to mentor, train, coach and become a friend and companion to the students.  The 1:1 attention that the children receive makes a huge difference academically for them.

The Senior Companion Program began in 1974 and throughout participating organizations in communities across the nation; Senior Companions have provided crucial assistance to older adults. The volunteers at SGPRC serve over 100 Adults with special needs daily.  They help to mentor, train, coach and become a companion to the adults.  The 1:1 attention that the Adults receive makes a huge difference in them retaining much of their independence.
